So there are times in my life when I said I probably won't *always* have a dog. Henry is my other half, but I don't know if I can do it again after he's gone.

Then again there's something about that deep-throated bark when a stranger with a flashlight wanders up to the house in the middle of the night that sets my pounding adrenaline rush at ease...

I'm happy in the anonymity of the city. It feels safe. The single-out-ness of the countryside freaks me a little, and I guess what I mean is that I think I'm always going to want to have a large and somewhat intimidating dog so long as I live in the middle of nowhere on my own.

My cats just aren't that scary. (Sorry guys)
