I've mostly been doing very little this weekend, and it's glorious. Cleaning house. Drying tomatoes and peaches for winter, freezing corn, baking bread, watching mindless TV, reading and writing.

Half-marathon in one week. I'm sorta-kinda ready. I think. Not to set a PR or anything, but at least to finish respectably.

The woman whose house I'm going to be sharing has three cats of her own. I think Lloyd will probably be okay if hers aren't too territorial, but I worry about my little antisocial princess. She'll either become completely unhinged or try to take over like she did at my mom's house.

AAA tells me it's only 8 hours and 40 minutes from Madison to where you live, so I'm going to try to make the drive all in one day. Maybe if it's not too late when I get in, we can get dinner and geek around!

In several roomate-situations, I've found the best thing is to make sure the antisocial cat has lots of high, safe hiding places: empty shelves, top of bookshelves and dressers, etc. You can even put in an enclosure from the window.

Except for now I am thinking about how I want to write all about how XMFC-verse Charlies Xavier and Emma Frost become unlikely and obnoxiously smug telepathic BFFs and have gossipy conversations without saying a word out loud and everybody they know on both sides of the ~ideological divide~ is like, "Holy shit the two of them in the same room is so much scarier than going to war with humans what the fuck," and they don't actually take over the whole world together because that would be gauche, but they could.)

(I saw a prompt on one of the memes about how if parents found out their child was hearing voices in his head and it wasn't a game, obviously their response would be to assume he was completely crazy, not telepathic, and then I thought, well, how much would it suck to be a telepathic child in a mental hospital, and then I thought, well, obviously the only person to chat about that with would be another telepath, so I spent too much time last night reading about psychiatric hospitals in the 1940s and '50s (SCARY) and wrote 1400 words. /o\)

I thought they were worried about Stanton? I missed the beginning of the movie, so I'm not sure which cities they raced through. Although it's on again now - yes, I have been sitting in front of the TV all this time, but I've been writing! fanfiction things! Emma and Charles have finally met in person! - so I guess I'll find out.
