I just had a BREAKTHROUGH idea for my reel_spn story (which I'm certain is overdue). Now I just have to write the darn thing.

I'm writing it for The Thomas Crown Affair, which is one of my favorite movies (both the Steve McQueen and Pierce Brosnan versions). It's hot and smart and sexy, and I had no idea how to infuse it with the spirit of Supernatural. But now... eee!!!

Dean Winchester (although I love the name Tommy Crown) is a cat burgler leading the double life of a billionaire playboy who pursues the "family tradition" of tracking down and neutralizing haunted, possessed, and dangerous precious artifacts.

Sam is an insurance investigator, fresh out of school and hot on his tail.

Oh, and we mustn't forget the obligate villa on a half-deserted Caribbean island.

Any ideas for the harried and single New York detective who loves and hates to be paired up with Sam?

eee! I KNOW. I wasn't sure what I could legitimately have him burgle, but haunted artifacts? from museums and galleries and homes of the rich and famous? PERFECT.

And, duh! Of course he has a home in the Caribbean. With a yacht to get there. It's for tax purposes.

(I wish I could have a home on a tropical island for tax purposes.)

OMG! I've just been "researching" the movie and I'm the most excited for the very end when Sam's sure he's missed Dean's getaway boat and gets on to a plane back to California...

And despite professing a hatred of flying Dean's sitting in the seat behind him!!
