Written in-line (I got to see the first half twice, when rommie's girlfriend came over to watch around 9:30).

0. I want to know how thy got to the night camped out in the Impala at the shore *eyebrow waggle*

1. OMG LONG LOST BROCHESTER!!!

2. May I reiterate: LONG LOST BROCHESTER!!! (He doesn't really look like them. Except about the eyes a little)

3. Rocks, paper scissors = continuity and LOVE. I want the story of the first time Dean picks paper. He's been saving it. His whole life. (Gosh, I'm being demanding tonight. apologies)

4. "You're my brothers--" Is the best excuse for any and all irrational behavior. This kid is a Winchester to the core.

5. I love Dean's painfully obvious jealousy (he took you to a freakin' baseball game?!) and discomfort, that Sam calls him on it, too.

5a. I love that he has the sharper sense of a Supernatural crime scene. In fact, I love on-the-hunt good-at-his-job!Dean so much, I can't even say. Thank GOD he's back. (I hope for good)

6. Sammy SO wants to be the big brother. It's cute. And a little heartbreaking. All the parallels between him and John this episode make me wonder what lengths John would've gone to to see this thing through. I also wondered, for a moment, how much of Adam's lessons he was modeling after Dean...

7. AGENT NUGENT!!!

8. You know, Dean's stance on protecting the kid makes perfect sense in light of his conversation with Mary. (And PS, now we know what straw drove Sam to Stanford.)

8a. You know, I think it's true that we don't turn out like the parent we idolize, or we idolize the parental figure least like us. Dean had John, and ended up more like Mary. Sam had Dean, and ended up more like John. There is a meta in here I am not eloquent enough to write.

9. Okay, so not long lost brochester anymore. I suspected they were going to kill him off, but only a moment before it happened, and not that it had happened before the show even started.

10. Dean's revelation? He shoulda just asked us about it back in S1... ;)

Actually, this was back to about as season-one-ish as I think they may ever be. And it was nice. I miss SamnDean, Family is everything, Saving People Hunting Things. I fully approve.
