I have a (very) important question to ask y'all. Should I go back and catch up on season six Supernatural?

I haven't mostly because five ended just where I was happy to have it end, and I really didn't want to be disappointed...

But now I might have a little time on my hands and I got curious. Hopefully I won't be killing any cats.

~

In some of this spare time, I've been going back and re-watching Stargate: Atlantis. Man, I did enjoy that series, pseudoscience and all. Hey, can anyone point me in the direction of, er, discerning fic rec comms for it? (Happy to read gen, slash, action, whatever)

Gosh, I'm being demanding.

~

And finally,

Christmas card writing day! Reply with a screened comment/address if you want a card! (although a few of you whose addresses I have, won't get off regardless :D )

YOU SHOULD WATCH SEASON 6. C'MON C'MON C'MON! WHY SO SERIOUS 'BOUT THIS.

If you want a more measured response from me (without spoilers!) :)- so you might have a history with Show- the way Dean and Sam are with each other in S1? It's very different now obviously but I find it more interesting- I've never been entertained by Sam as I am this season.

There's still the misogyny FUCK SHOW FOR THAT but the female characters are still confusingly kickass.

You should watch Show for Cas because is is always awesome.

How can you KIND OF miss Cas when he does things like this? *IS SRS BSN TIEMS*

If you enjoyed SGA you might like Hawaii 5-0? I didn't particularly but the old SGA crowd are seeming to.

Okay, I have it set so all anonymous comments are screened (just as long as you say who it is in the comment, should work!)

You've read Cate's SGA fic, I assume? I didn't even watch the show religiously, and I adore her fic about it.

Oh, and I gave up on season 6 too. Brandon watches it, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I'm only watching SPN Season 6 off-and-on (I'm behind a couple of eps at the moment) so I'm afraid I'm not the best person to ask! :P

Also, I have the same address, but I don't have your new one. Email plz!!

I, um, can't comment on SPN, since clinics knocked me off schedule somewhere back in mid-season 5 and I haven't got up the gumption to catch up yet. Sorry. Soon, though?

On the other hand: Hawaii 5-O was just supposed to be this minor distraction that I turned on while vetprepping, and then it wound up being ADORABLE and AWESOME. So, you know, if you were looking for something to occupy yourself with that involves gratuitous explosion, insanely pretty people, and a complete lack of snow ever, this would be the thing. *g*

Oh, Clinics. I wish I could say it got better when you intern (are you interning?) but... it doesn't.

After that, though? even on call 30-35% of the time feels like this incredible luxury! (especially in the winter when things calm down. Less in the summer-- esp for small animal calls)

Hmmm... started H5-0 tonight, but then got distracted by the TVD marathon. It's a good thing we've got a ragin blizard going to keep me indoors...

(are you interning?)

Nope. I decided to go the other (equally wacky) direction and put all my eggs in the equine paleo PhD basket, hoping to stick around in vet academia when it's all said and done. I'm actually submitting an app tonight, as it happens. *g*

I'm glad to hear you're at least feeling a little bit less squashed these days, continuing on calls aside. Are you planning to stay where you are long term, at this point, or still looking for something full-time equine?

I am so confused by this weather pattern! You have bunches down there, they have bunches up above us, but we've got almost nothing here. Except cold. Cold, we got plenty of (I say as I sit here wishing desperately that my landlord could magically make the pipes melt so that I could snag a shower).

I have the next block off, and I have every intention of mainlining all available forms of entertainment until my brain is mush. This is right up there with my resolution that there will be several days this summer spent on a beach somewhere with fruity drinks and books for company. It's good to have goals, right? *g*

I stopped watching SPN after 5.16, and after an initial mourning period, have been blissfully removed from any further show-related angst and hand-wringing and disappointment and whatnot. From what I've heard about this season from my f-list, I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet, giving up on SPN when I did.

I will email you regarding addresses (I need yours, too) since your comments aren't screening! ♥

eeenteresting.

Although I didn't have quite the same issues with the show (enjoying the addition of Cas, etc). My problem was more with the scope, I think.

What I mean is; after you've killed off each of the boys four to five times and provided ample opportunity for them to return, where do you go from there? It's like the incredible angst Kripke heaped on them kind of bottomed out, and now it's just like 'eh? they got over Hell, the'll get over this'

It seems to be the difficulty taking shows/books like this beyond a few seasons/novels-- if you keep having to make the end game bigger and bigger, soon you lose the... humanity? or something.

If that makes any sense. It's the reason I rather gave up on watching them do it again.

If you've lasted this long without SPN, I'd say don't bother catching up. I'm watching out of obligation at this point, because I keep hoping it'll get better. So far, no luck. It's a mess.

Huh. I could go with that, too.

Out of curiosity 9and laziness, because I could probably read the episode recaps), how do they bring Sam back this time, anyway?

You don't find out for several eps how he's brought back. At first they just tell you that he doesn't know. One minute he's in the cage and the next he's not. Cas soon makes it clear he didn't do anything and doesn't know how it happened, either.

You really want to know what they reveal? :)
