True Blood S4 Premiere

krislaughsSo after finally finishing the written series, I thought I would have a good idea of what's going on this season.
Oh, how wrong I was. :)
1. First, I love that the fairies are crazy, long-eared, vengeful nut-jobs. I'm kinda sad that Barry the Bellboy is stuck in fairyland after eating the fruit (maybe the ffects wear off after a while?) but clearly he hasn't read enough folklore and mythology because rule number one is NEVER EAT THE FRUIT.
Claude was still kinda sexy, even without the glamour. I hope we get to see more of him.
2. King Bill Compton. It would make me laugh if he wasn't so good at it.
3. The witches. More with the batshit crazy. I'm missing some of over-the-top, rentboy Lafayette, but I want him to be happy and settled, too. I'm with him in my reservations about witch-magic.
4. Tara. HOLY SHIT! Not gonna lie, she's effing hot-- and I do mean that in the lesbian, ass-kicking sense of the word. That said, I feel like her scenes so far were written by horny teenage boys.
5. Eric. How do I love him, let me count the ways. I love that he's totally earnest that he thinks he can win Sookie by purchasing her house and dangling the keys in front of her eyes, that he's really so dangerously clueless about people and women and love (and so aces at manipulation)... but that he really means it. I hope his arc is at least a little bit like the book, [highlight to see] in which case we get to see the best side of Eric only to lose it again.
6. Jason. JASON's ALL GROWED UP! He's taking responsibility. A year ago, he couldn't even spell the word. Amazing what losing his last shred of family did to the man.
7. Andy. Hooked on 'v'? Haven't we already done the Bellefleur-addiction storyline before? Like in season two?
8. Not sure what to make of Sam. And I missed most of the scene with Tommy because a friend called in the middle of the show. But he turns into a horse! With all his new shifter friends. That's good enough for me.
I think that's all. Is that all? I can hardly keep track of all the story lines these days. I love that they're showing everyone (although did I miss Alcide? or was he not in this one?) but it means less time for each story in the hour-long ep, and that much more longing for next week's. I'm debating trying to catch the next one early on HBO-Go...
