Author's Notes: Illustration for Never Summer a beautiful, terrifying, brilliant tale by [livejournal.com profile] ignipes.

The young man was dark-haired and unshaven, wearing a white dress shirt and rumpled like he'd been up all last night but hadn't bothered to change in the morning. He spoke without looking up from the keyboard. "Cold tonight, isn't it?"

...

It was a drawing of a young man with a smile on his face, leaning casually on a grand piano and looking off the left edge of the drawing.

"I saw this guy today," Sam said. He flipped to the front of the book, found E. Warrington written in tiny script inside the front cover. "I don't believe it. I didn't even realize..."

"What?"

"I
talked to this guy today."

"He's here?"

Sam shook his head. "He looked the exact same. Same age. Same shirt. I don't fucking believe it..."

"He died more than thirty years ago."

Hehehe. thank you! It was just one of those scenes that you read and see the whole thing so clearly you *have* to do something about it.

EEEEEE. I love this SO MUCH.

I love the casual posture, the half-untucked shirt and loose time and forearm (hee!), the piano and the mirror and the rich red colors and EVERYTHING.

=D

YaY!! hahaha. HAD to include the forearm, because, yeah.

And I was definitely going for that rumpled, post-coital, in the piano room look...
Just in case you were wondering.

WOW

Well no wonder Sammy didn't realise. (Better watch what I say to avoid spoilers.)

Very talented artist, all I can do is stick figures.

HEhehe. I think I spoiled it all in the author's notes, but point taken. :)

Yeah, I think we can forgive Sammy, just this once.

Thank you!
