Author's Notes: Illustration for Never Summer a beautiful, terrifying, brilliant tale by
ignipes.
The young man was dark-haired and unshaven, wearing a white dress shirt and rumpled like he'd been up all last night but hadn't bothered to change in the morning. He spoke without looking up from the keyboard. "Cold tonight, isn't it?"
...
It was a drawing of a young man with a smile on his face, leaning casually on a grand piano and looking off the left edge of the drawing.
"I saw this guy today," Sam said. He flipped to the front of the book, found E. Warrington written in tiny script inside the front cover. "I don't believe it. I didn't even realize..."
"What?"
"I talked to this guy today."
"He's here?"
Sam shook his head. "He looked the exact same. Same age. Same shirt. I don't fucking believe it..."

"He died more than thirty years ago."

Date: 2006-06-03 03:48 am (UTC)I love the casual posture, the half-untucked shirt and loose time and forearm (hee!), the piano and the mirror and the rich red colors and EVERYTHING.
=D

Just in case you were wondering.

Very talented artist, all I can do is stick figures.
