VACCINATION, PEOPLE!
Aug. 18th, 2010 06:30 pmARGH!
Dear pet-owning population of the greater Pittsburgh area,
Let me begin by saying that there are very few things I will guilt a client over. I really try torespect your decisions and point of view. I have had clients request that I euthanize their beloved pets for many reasons-- some a blessing, some a decision I wouldn't have made, however I accept (and expect) that it was not undertaken lightly and was the best thing to do in the context of their life-- that said:
I DO NOT RESPECT PEOPLE WHO WANT ME TO SAVE PETS DYING OF VACCINE-PREVENTABLE DISEASE
Let me repeat: If you elect not to vaccinate or are too lazy/cheap to bring your puppy in for his/her vaccines, I have VERY little sympathy for you (much more for your pet) when you bring it to me dying. This applies especially when (as I have seen several times) this is NOT THE FIRST PUPPY WITH PARVOVIRUS YOU HAVE HAD.
I and my technicians are the ones who have to watch it fade away, shitting out all the blood and fluid it its poor, dehydrated body.
If you do not understand the concept of vaccination, ASK ME! I will explain.
If you still do not understand, you should probably have a pet rock.
There are so many diseases we can do nothing about. There are so many without vaccines, with poor vaccines. THIS (parvovirus) is one we have a VERY GOOD vaccination for.
USE IT!
Sincerely,
Kris - tired of watching puppies die
